Artists’ Bios

What is this about?

Elizabeth and I make a living with our cameras primarily shooting weddings and portraits.  We love this type of work and are thrilled to be chosen to spend this important day with our customers.  We are also always striving to improve our work, skills and define our style.  To that end we have undertaken a number of  personal projects over the years to photograph people. places and things we encounter.

It has allowed us to build an interesting portfolio of images that we are sharing here.  The work here is diverse and incorporates a number of interesting techniques and tools, such as Corel Painter and the iphone camera. We hope you enjoy this peek into our creative process and we would love to hear your feedback on the work.

Frank’s Artist Statement

I have been drawing, painting and photographing things my entire life. Always a skilled illustrator, in college I studied with Herb Jackson who introduced me to action painting and abstract imagery. That exposure was instrumental in changing my thinking about imagery from the purely literal to a more conceptual approach. It has informed my artistic vision ever since. As life moved forward I switched my artistic endeavors almost entirely to photography until several years ago when I discovered Corel Painter and began to experiment with digital painting. The images presented in the digital Painting Gallery are the product of that work. I have been working as a professional photographer for nearly twenty years and have enjoyed rediscovering painting and drawing combining the latest digital tools with analog techniques. I produce limited edition prints of my digital work that are limited to 50 and are printed on traditional papers, canvas or handmade papers whichever provide the texture and quality that best represents the images.
