Elizabeth Myers has been photographing people professionally since 1997, first as a baby and family photographer. In 2003 she shot her first wedding and has been enthusiastically focusing on wedding photography ever since. “A wedding is the first day in the life of a new family. Being there with my camera is a privilege. To document the day from beginning to end and then give that back to our couples in a beautiful format is an amazing feeling that never gets old.” She loves engagement sessions, gorgeous shoes, wedding cake and people who cry at weddings. If you ask her what’s the best thing about being a wedding photographer, she’ll say, “The ability to make people to kiss on demand. I say ‘kiss’ and they do it. It’s my own little super-power.” Elizabeth and her husband Frank live in Raleigh and have two children. When she’s not working, Elizabeth is an avid reader, makes custom jewelry and sometimes crochets until the wee hours of the morning.
Christa Davidson is a hopeless romantic enamored with the way a photograph can tell a story. She loves personal touches, bright colors and couples who love to laugh. Blessed with lots of energy and a great attitude, she brings a sense of fun with her wherever she goes. Watch her work and you’d never know how seriously she takes her job from all the laughing and smiling…but don’t let her easy-going demeanor fool you. Christa is an award-winning photographer who’s been professionally documenting weddings since 2005. Her artistic, beautifully-composed images are proof of her skill and experience. Her favorite saying? “I’ll do anything for the shot…” and she means it! Born and raised in Texas, Christa lives in Morrisville with her husband, two children and one very adorable pup named Sugar. Christa has a beautiful voice and sings whenever she can, most often these days at her church on Sunday mornings. An accomplished graphic designer, in her free time you can find her shopping with her daughter, at Taekwondo with her son or training to be a certified BodyCombat or TurboKick instructor.
Frank Myers has been a professional photographer for over 20 years and an artist his entire life. Frank co-founded Sweet Life Studios with Elizabeth in 2006; in 2012, he stepped away from wedding photography to concentrate on documenting the vibrant and emerging Jazz community in Central North Carolina. Frank has photographed dozens of live shows over the last 4 years, originally as a way to showcase the work of the non-profit Art of Cool Project in Durham, North Carolina, working to capture the talent and emotion of local artists pursuing their passion for music. Currently at work on a book project featuring portraits of local Jazz musicians, Frank’s photography has been featured in galleries and art exhibits all over the Southeast. A true Renaissance man, his extensive knowledge of data storage technology makes him especially qualified to oversee the archiving of our clients’ images. With so much wedding photography experience, Frank is permanently on-call, in the unlikely event a nasty flu hits Elizabeth or Christa on a wedding day. When he’s not working or creating, Frank is most likely on the hunt for vintage cameras, listening to live music or cooking gourmet meals for Elizabeth and their kids.
Margie Jackson is Sweet Life’s Assistant Extraordinaire. A new bride, she shares a love of photography and all things wedding-related. You’ll find Margie helping out at bridal sessions, fluffing trains and deftly wielding a reflector to create beautiful light. At weddings, she supports our partner photographers by wrangling equipment, keeping an eye on time-lines and entertaining flower girls, a job she’s especially qualified for, since she’s also a first-rate first-grade teacher. She has fantastic photographic timing, making her a natural at capturing the often high-speed antics of Sweet Life’s “Hey Hotshot!” Photobooth. Margie’s sweet disposition, generous nature and positive attitude makes her a welcome addition to any wedding day. With her new husband Matt, Margie loves to run, travel, play golf and enthusiastically support North Carolina’s professional hockey team, The Hurricanes.
